Healthy Lives. Measurable Results.
We tackle the most pressing health problems,
so that people can lead healthier, happier,
more productive lives.

The Women’s Health Project (WHP) is a safe abortion and family planning project funded by an anonymous donor. The goal of WHP is to increase access to safe abortion services for all women who need them and increase the use of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
WHP works primarily with three target audiences to achieve results:
  • 1 Private sector health care providers and pharmacies to ensure steady supplies of misoprostol, mifepristone/misoprostol (MA) combination packs, and intrauterine devices (IUDs), as well as the delivery of quality safe abortion, post abortion care, harm reduction and LARC services by trained providers;
  • 2 Empowering women of reproductive age to make informed choices about safe abortion and family planning services, including IUDs, without facing judgment or stigma; and
  • 3 Ministries of Health and other governing bodies to create an enabling environment for greater availability of safe abortion and LARC services through the private and public sectors.
The WHP tracker is a monthly data set that captures aggregate routine monitoring data at the country level and allows users to create customized dashboards using DHIS2’s powerful analytics tools. Collecting WHP data in DHIS2 makes it easier for different levels of program staff to access, manage, and analyze the progress of the program’s deliverables. Thanks to the data available in DHIS2, key program decision makers have information at their fingertips to encourage data use and to make actionable changes to improve the program’s implementation.
